For this tutorial you will need:


Corel Paint Shop Pro X4 Ultimate. Download a trial version here
Animation Shop here
Supplies here


- Extract cm014_f000.PspScript file to My Documents/Corel PaintShop Pro/14.0/Scripts-Trusted folder.

- Extract all files to a folder of your choice.


This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP and its tools. It was written using Corel Paint Shop Pro X4 Ultimate, but may be done with previous versions.


Note: When you open the cm014_f000.pspimage file you will see a blank canvas. It's not empty: it contains all the selections needed, saved to alpha channels.


Remember to save often.

Drop script by Dynamic Drive




1. Open up cm014_f000.pspimage. Window - Duplicate (Shift + D). Close the original. In the Layers Palette, click on Raster 2. Layers - Delete.

2. Set Foreground color to: #ab0206 and your Background color to: #450002. Using the Flood Fill Tool, fill "Raster 1" with the foreground color (left mouse button).

3. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with Background color (right mouse button). Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #1 - Load. Edit - Clear (Supr.). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D). Layers - Merge - Merge Down. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen More.

4. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with Background color (right mouse button). Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #2 - Load. Edit - Clear (Supr.). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D). Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow, Vertical and Horizontal: 0 - Opacity: 100 - Blur: 50 - Color: #1e0000.

5. Open up cm014f-1.jpg. Edit - Copy (Ctrl. + C). On your working image: Layers - New Raster Layer. Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #3 - Load. Edit - Paste Into Selection (Ctrl. + Shift + L). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D).

6. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with Background color (right mouse button). Press Shift + G to adjust Gamma Correction: 0,20 - Link: checked. Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #4 - Load. Edit - Clear (Supr.). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D).

7. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with Background color (right mouse button). Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #5 - Load. Edit - Clear (Supr.). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D).

8. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with the foreground color (left mouse button). Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #6 - Load. Edit - Clear (Supr.). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D). Layers - Merge - Merge Down. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen More. In the Layers Palette, click the Lock/Unlock button.



Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout, Vertical and Horizontal: 0 - Opacity: 100 - Blur: 35 - Shadow color: #ff0000 - Fill interior with color: Unchecked.

9. Open up cm014f-2.pspimage. Edit - Copy (Ctrl. + C). On your working image: Layers - New Raster Layer. Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #7 - Load. Edit - Paste Into Selection (Ctrl. + Shift + L). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D).

10. In the Materials Palette, change your Foreground color to: #ecce2d. Layers - New Raster Layer. Set the Blend Mode to: Overlay. Fill with the foreground color (left mouse button). Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Alpha Channel - Selection #8 - Load. Edit - Clear (Supr.). Selections - Select None (Ctrl. + D). Layers - Merge - Merge Visible. Layers - Arrange - Send to Bottom.

11. In the Layers Palette, highlight your layer "Flame 10". Open up cm014f-3.pspimage. Edit - Copy (Ctrl. + C). On your working image: Edit - Paste as New Layer (Ctrl. + L).

12. On the Script toolbar, Category: Scripts-Trusted. On the drop-list, choose cm014_f000 and click the Run Selected Script button.



Wait to finish the script. File - Save (Ctrl. + S).

13. Open your Animation Shop. Open the file you've just saved. Edit - Select All (Ctrl. + A). Animation - Frame Properties (Alt + Enter) - Display time (in 1/100th sec): 10. File - Save As: the_name_of_your_choice.gif.
