For this tutorial you will need:


Adobe Photoshop CS3. Download a trial version. here
Supplies here


- Extract all files to a folder of your choice.


This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CS3.


Note: When you open the cm009_k000.psd file you will see a blank canvas. It's not empty: it contains all the selections needed, saved to alpha channels.


Remember to save often.

Drop script by Dynamic Drive




1. Open the cm009_k000.psd. Image - Duplicate. Close the original. Edit - Preset Manager. On the drop-list, choose Gradients (Ctrl. + 3). Load: cmv_2047.grd - Load. Click Done. Click the Gradient Tool and choose these settings:

Style: Linear Gradient - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Reverse: Unchecked - Dither: Checked - Transparency: Checked.

Press Shift and drag your mouse from left to right to apply the gradient. Filter - Texture - Texturizer, Load Texture,



select 29-cmv, with these settings:



Layer - Duplicate Layer. Edit - Transform - Flip Horizontal. In the Layers palette, set Blend Mode to Screen and Opacity to 50%. Filter - Sharpen - Sharpen. Layer - Merge Down (Ctrl. + E).

2. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 01. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #bfadb9 - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

3. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 02. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #fdfbfa - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked.

Layer - Layer Style - Drop Shadow: Blend Mode: Multiply - Opacity: 100% - Set Color of Shadow: #ac9aab - Angle: 0 - Use Global Light: Checked. Distance: 0 px - Spread: 0% - Size: 2 px - Contour: Linear - Anti-aliased: Checked - Noise: 0 - Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow: Checked. Filter - Sharpen - Sharpen. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

4. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Mode: Multiply. Select - Load Selection - Channel: 03. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #bfadb9 - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

5. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 04. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #fdfbfa - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D). Filter - Sharpen - Sharpen More.

6. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 05. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #bfadb9 - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

7. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 06. Press Shift and drag your mouse from left to right to apply the gradient. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

8. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 07. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #fdfbfa - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

9. Open cm009k-1.psd, file provided. Select All (Ctrl. + A). Edit - Copy (Ctrl + C). On the working image: Select - Load Selection - Channel: 08. Edit - Paste (Ctrl. + V).

10. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 09. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #fdfbfa - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked.

Layer - Layer Style - Drop Shadow: Blend Mode: Multiply - Opacity: 100% - Set Color of Shadow: #ac9aab - Angle: 0 - Use Global Light: Checked. Distance: 0 px - Spread: 0% - Size: 2 px - Contour: Linear - Anti-aliased: Checked - Noise: 0 - Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow: Checked. Filter - Sharpen - Sharpen. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

11. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Mode: Multiply. Select - Load Selection - Channel: 10. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #bfadb9 - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D).

12. Layer - New - Layer (Shift +Ctrl + N). Select - Load Selection - Channel: 11. Edit - Fill (Shift + F5): Use: Color - #fdfbfa - Mode: Normal - Opacity: 100% - Preserve Transparency: Unchecked. Select - Deselect (Ctrl. + D). Filter - Sharpen - Sharpen More.

13. Open cm009k-2.psd, file provided. Select All (Ctrl. + A). Edit - Copy (Ctrl + C). On the working image: Edit - Paste (Ctrl. + V). Layer - Merge Visible (Shift + Ctrl. + E).
